Constantinos Carydis

Biography


Constantinos Carydis was born in Athens in 1974. After studying piano at the Athens Conservatory he continued and completed his studies in conductorship under Prof. Hermann Michael at the Munich University of Music and Performing Arts.

First engagements took him to the Theater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich and the Stuttgart State Opera. In addition he has made guest appearances at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden London, the Vienna State Opera, the Berlin State Opera, the Munich State Opera, the Netherlands Opera Amsterdam, the Komische Oper Berlin, the Opera de Lyon, the Frankfurt Opera and the Athens State Opera.


Constantinos Carydis has given concerts among others with the Symponieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks Munich, the Orchestra dell´Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia Roma. the Munich Philharmonic, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, the Deutsches Sinfonieorchester Berlin, the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, the RSO Vienna and RSO Stuttgart, the Tonhalle-Orchestra Zurich, the Museumsorchester Frankfurt, the Orchestra of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the Munich Chamber Orchestra and the Kammerakademie Potsdam.

In 2011 Constantinos Carydis got as the first conductor the Carlos Kleiber-Prize of the Bavarian State Opera Munich.
